Her Royale Highness

Royale is just absolutely breathtaking. At 13.3 Hands and growing, she is blessed with all the qualities that the Romany people have spent years to achieve their perfect horse.

In the very near future, as Royale matures into a mare, it is with much anticipation that she will produce quality foals like her Dam, Queenie, allowing us as breeders to repeat the tradition here at Gypsy Fortune Farm in the USA.

Born: July 21, 2007

Sire: The Lottery Horse (UK)
Grandsire: Old Sam
Great Grand Sire: Old Black Horse

Grand Dam: Lottery's Mare
Grand Sire: Old Paddy Horse

Dam: "Royale Queen of Hearts"
Grandsire: "The Original Kent Horse"
Some of the older Romany gentlemen considered him to be "The best they ever had seen"
Grand Dam: A Tom Brazil's Mare - with Roadsweeper (UK) Bloodlines

Royale is registered with the following registries:

  • The Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association
  • The Gypsy Horse Registry of America, fka GCSA
  • The Gypsy Vanner Horse Society

It has been said in Great Britain "If you have a foal from the Lottery Horse it is like winning the lottery". We are so very fortunate to have Royale as our breeding mare in the very near future. With the bloodlines she possess she will produce one of the most stunning colts or fillies. We can hardly wait to see!

Watching Royale move is captivating. I sometimes find myself lost in her run across the pastures as she really puts her heart into running. What a wonderful ground covering trot with nice knee action. She transitions nicely into a smooth canter.

I think her favorite thing to do is to work as it seems to be all play to her. She enjoys what she does. She is so willing to do what she is asked.

We will share with you the journey through Royale's life with the pictures that we have taken of her and collected over several years from birth to a maturing two and one half year old filly.

We have all watched little "Royale" grow from a baby into a maturing lovely filly. It is hard to believe but she is nearly to the age now to breed. If you are looking for a foal in the near future, and there is a particular stallion that you would like to select to breed to her before we go forward and breed her to a stallion we have picked out, we would be more than happy to accommodate your wishes for your dream foal. Just let us know the stallion of your choice and we will discuss all the details with you.

Royale is my first show horse. We both got started showing in 2007 at the age of 9 months (Not my age though, hers). Our first show was the Gypsy Horse and Drum Show in Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park. I entered her into the Obstacle Class with 12 entries and she placed 2nd place. That was an awesome experience. Me with no show record or show experience and now Royale just won second place! Wow! That was terrific! We had a ball!

We were still excited to be able to take her and her Dam "Queenie" to the Gypsy Vanner Horse Show during the Ohio State fair in Columbus, OH August 11, 2007. We placed 4th out of 22 entries in the Fillies 2 years old and under Halter Class and placed 5th in the Obstacle Class. We did great for a couple of rookies!

Jimmy & I were also honored with the very first GCDHA Spirit Award 2007 here at this show. What a surprise! Words cannot describe how special that Becky, Mary W. and all of the other breeders made us feel by receiving this award. What a great time we had. I didn't know showing could be so much fun.

We went back to Kentucky to the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse National, May 2nd, 2008 and participated in the In Hand Obstacle class where we placed 3rd, 5th In Hand Halter fillies 2 and under and 5th in the costume class with my big Ole "Baby" Royale.

Closing out our 2008 show season, we traveled to Danville, Indiana for the Heartland Feathered Classic September 26, 2008 where we entered the Obstacle Class. I am so pleased to say that we finally won 1st place out of 25 entries in the In Hand Obstacle and 1st place in the Long Line Obstacle Class. Royale and I have equally worked hard at achieving this goal and these two ribbons were well earned. What I think that is most important here is that Royale is enjoying herself at the shows we are involved in. She loves to show and she thinks the show ring is her playground. I am so proud of our beautiful young lady Royale! I love her dearly.

Jimmy & I love to see all of our friends at the different shows we have made at the horse shows meeting other breeders and socializing whenever possible. It was an honor for us both to present the Spirit Award 2008 to someone else this year.

It was very nice seeing and visiting, with what little time we had.... James Taylor, Tom Price & Brian Cash, meeting Brian's sister, Deirdre, and Michael Vines from the UK.

Showing has been one of the most rewarding journeys that I have taken in my life. I've always wanted to show all my life but wasn't allowed to. Then I grew up, got married, became a mother and life happened. I wanted to Thank my husband Jimmy for allowing me to take the opportunity to show, he helps me tremendously and without him I couldn't do it. I love you Jimmy!

Royale's sire, The Lottery Horse, shown below, is a real beauty and has passed his quality traits on to his daughter.

A lot of hard work and sleepless nights goes into preparing and running all of our Gypsy Horse Breed Shows. Jimmy & I would like to take a moment to thank everybody involved in preparing and running these shows and thank you for making the shows possible. Without you all it would be impossible to promote our breed in the shows.
